Schaumburg man dies after crash in Chicago
A 63-year-old Schaumburg man pronounced dead after the car he was driving crashed into a tree in Chicago late Wednesday died as a result a pulmonary thromboembolism, or blood clot, authorities said Thursday.
Chicago police said Ryszard Kluz was the lone occupant of the car that was traveling south on the 0-100 block of West LaSalle Drive at about 11 p.m. when it struck the tree.
He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:45 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
The crash remains under investigation, authorities said.
