Lending a Helping Hand

The firefighters of the Prospect Heights Fire District has been supported by so many during this pandemic, we felt that we needed to pay it forward.

Crews collected and shopped for $1,000 worth of groceries to directly benefit three local food pantries. Bob Avvisati the store manager at Tony's Fresh Market opened the store early to allow us to get our work done without disrupting other shoppers and resident Betty Cloud served as our liaison to coordinate the exact needs of each pantry.

The food we collected will benefit the food pantries of St. Aphonsus Liquori Church , Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (benefiting Wheeling Township) and Catholic Charities.

Fire Chief Smith wishes to thank the entire department for their dedication and generosity during these more than unusual times.
