Thank yous in hindisght

I know President Trump has received considerable criticism for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic. Well, I just want to say that his critics couldn't be more wrong. I, for one among many, want to thank our president for the following:

• Thank you for recognizing this "health crisis" as a Democratic and mainstream media hoax to discredit you. Your words went far to minimize the impact of this exaggeration on the American people. We could now more easily ignore the caterwauling from the liberal left.

• Thank you for comforting us in your early press conferences with the assurances that all was totally under control and that this virus would simply disappear in a short time. That let me and so many others continue living our lives as usual, going anywhere we pleased.

• Thanks for assuring us that the coronavirus test kits were abundantly available and would be given to anyone who needed or wanted the test. That eased our minds that we would quickly get a handle on this virus.

• Thank you for the genius of your leadership. Knowing that delegation is one of the key elements of good leadership, you had the wisdom to let that role be assumed by our governors, mayors and CEOs of major corporations and other resources.

• Thank you for the tone of your recent press conferences, in which you now seem to be acknowledging the seriousness of this virus. Your clever robotic presentation belies your spoken word. I don't know Morse Code, but I've been closely watching your blinking eyes which I'm sure are sending a far different message.

• And finally, thank you for your comments today when you stated that you have recognized this as a pandemic from the very beginning. That will completely throw off all those who have criticized your leadership.

I'm sure the naysayers will show film clips of your early statements which repeatedly show just the opposite, but, no worry; your trusted followers will believe you.
