St. Emily Sixth Grade Students Win in Statewide Science Competition

Eight St. Emily 6th graders have been invited to attend an award ceremony at our state capitol in April.

All sixth grade students entered a poster, poetry and prose contest in Science class, sponsored by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency about Algae: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly… How Can You Keep Your Local Pond Healthy? Top winners were: Jamie Laskiewicz (Poetry/Prose) and Timothy Laskiewicz (Poster). Honorable Mention Awards went to: Ava Alkass and Emily Clarke. Samantha Amar, Emma Dower, Lydia Lee, and Katie Stevens received Special Recognition Awards. Congratulations to St. Emily's sixth grade students.
