Trump syndromes and citizens' rights

This in response to Mr. Brian Van Dine's March 3 letter entitled, "It's not trump who is trampling on rights." Who's lecturing whom here?

"Real right trampling" indeed. In other words, the letter writer is miffed because he can't impose his personal beliefs onto others. Who's the real trampler here?

If a "real Christian" started a business" to be run according to "biblical principles," then all would be welcome to do business there. That's how good reputable businesses operate. That's how real Christians operate. A good business owner doesn't get to decide who is worthy to sit at his service counter and who isn't. If a business owner finds that disagreeable, and only serves customers that align with his "Christian" beliefs, then said "Christian" business owner should definitely have a Plan B and a short-term lease, because he or she won't be in business very long.

"Killing of innocents, indeed." Whether one believes in abortion or not, in this country, there needs to always be safe access to one if a woman or girl chooses to have one. Once again, who"s trampling whom?

Speaking of "innocents," if a 12-year-old "innocent" is raped by her abusive father, where is the concern for innocents there? The letter writer would bar this girl from terminating that pregnancy because of his "Christian beliefs." Who's trampling whom? If a woman has a medical condition dictating that she cannot carry a pregnancy because doing so would kill her is then raped and conceives, why does the letter writer trample her right to life? Who's trampling whom?

"Democrats removing gun ownership" ... hogwash. Only in the Fox News mind.

"Subjective feelings" indeed. Being LGBT is not subjective; it's how the person is wired. They don't get to choose their sexual orientation any more than one gets to choose their eye color. Who's really expecting others to accommodate their subjective feelings about what's good and evil here? Whose rights are really being trampled? There's something wrong when one's biblical interpretations suppress another American's basic rights.

I'd rather have Trump Derangement Syndrome than Trump Blind Obsession Syndrome any day.
