Get closer to nature in 'Start In Your Yard' April 4

Did you know that you can help mitigate climate change by doing things in your very own backyard?

On Saturday, April 4, join author-speaker-professor-entomologist Dr. Doug Tallamy for an enlightening discussion about your backyard and saving our planet at 10 a.m. in the Heritage Ballroom at The Centre of Elgin of Elgin, 45 Symphony Way.

Tallamy is the author of "Bringing Nature Home" and the new "Nature's Best Hope." It is focused on what individuals can do in their own back yards to address climate change, mitigate some of the harm caused to natural habitats, and enjoy a closer connection with nature.

Tallamy's new book, "Nature's Best Hope", will be for sale at a discounted price at this event.

Tickets are required.

To reserve your free ticket, visit www.eventbrite.com.

Co-sponsors include the Elgin Garden Club, Citizens for Conservation, The Growing Place, Wildflower Preservation and Propagation Committee, Friends of the Fox River, Natural Land Institute, and Majestic Oaks Nursery.
