Hawks Seabrook's hip surgery successful, recovery timetable 5-6 months
The Blackhawks announced that defenseman Brent Seabrook underwent successful surgery on his right hip Thursday.
This completes the three procedures Seabrook was scheduled to have done when the Hawks announced he was out for the season. He also had surgery on his left hip in January and his shoulder in December.
Hawks team physician Dr. Michael Terry anticipates Seabrook being ready to return in 5-6 months.
Seabrook, who will be 35 in April, has four years remaining on a contract that carries a $6.875 million cap hit. He had 3 goals and 1 assist in 32 games and had a career-worst 44.4 Corsi rating.
