Smiles, Energy, and Conversations At Saint Emily's McTeacher's Night

Twenty Seven teachers and support staff from Saint Emily School volunteered behind the counter on Thursday, January 30th at the Mt. Prospect McDonald's located on Rand Rd., where they served students and their families in their second annual fundraiser.

Principal Amy DuMez enjoyed the duty of wearing an apple pie costume encouraging students to purchase a delicious apple pie. Meanwhile, other teacher volunteers tended to the front counter, served ice cream and assisted in table service delivering delicious food to families.Mt. Prospect Officer Friendly, and Officer Sill, even stopped by the event to join the festivities! The restaurant was full all night long.Mrs. Willing's first-grade class was in perfect attendance for the McTeacher's Night event.

The proceeds from the 240 apple pies sold will help support the Saint Emily FSA. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher's Night sales were also donated directly to the Saint Emily FSA.

Saint Emily School FSA fundraising chair Amy Rosa organized the event and was quoted saying "Seeing the smiles, the energy, and the conversations is what these events are all about! We are so thankful for this opportunity to gather and earn money for our school at the same time!"

"The kids had fun. They are still having fun! I am glad I showed up!" said Saint Emily parent Arva Mathew.

"A lot of people, lot of fun, nice flow, and super happy teachers! Way to go McDonald's and the Saint Emily staff!" said Saint Emily parent John Rosa.

David Bear, Owner/Operator of the Mt. Prospect McDonald's and the Bear Family Restaurants were delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education and community.
