Schaumburg acceptng applications for residents police academy

The Schaumburg Police Department is accepting applications for the spring session of the Citizen Police Academy, which will run for 10 weeks beginning March 4.

Held every Wednesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m., the classes will give participants a behind-the-scenes look at police work, including patrol, investigations, support services and training. Participants also will have the opportunity to experience a patrol ride-along, firearms training on the range and mock traffic stops.
