Bond hearing, more details in Glenview shooting case
A 23-year-old Buffalo Grove man was ordered held on $500,000 bail Tuesday on charges of attempted murder and armed robbery stemming from a December shooting in Glenview.
Adam S. Wolf, who is on court supervision for a retail theft charge in Rolling Meadows' Third Municipal District, appeared for his bond hearing at Skokie's Second Municipal District wearing a white jumpsuit and in stocking feet.
Authorities say Wolf and co-defendant Syre L. Perry, 23, of Naperville, were driven to a location in the 1900 block of Palmgren Drive in Glenview at about 7:49 p.m. Dec. 7 to meet with a 23-year-old man who had agreed to sell them cocaine.
Perry was sitting in the front passenger seat and Wolf was in the back seat when the man entered the car with a bag of cocaine weighing 3.5 grams, said Assistant Cook County State's Attorney Andreana Turano.
After the man weighed the drugs, Perry pulled out a handgun and demanded money, Turano said. The man said he had no money and attempted to leave the car but its child locks were engaged, she said. Perry opened the door, the man fled and Perry fired two shots, one of which struck the man in the abdomen as he ran from the car, Turano said.
Wolf subsequently admitted to police he purchased the gun and gave it to Perry, Turano said. He was arrested Saturday. Perry was arrested Friday, she said.
Wolf's attorney said his client turned himself in to police after he learned they were looking for him.
Wolf next appears in Skokie courtroom on Feb. 11. Perry, 23, is being held without bond in Cook County jail. He next appears in a Skokie courtroom on Wednesday.
