Highland Park Community Foundation Announces the Appointment of David Reich as Foundation Chairman
The Highland Park Community Foundation (HPCF) has appointed David Reich to the position of Chairman.
At the Highland Park Community Foundation's annual meeting in December, David Reich assumed the Chairmanship of the Foundation. "I am thrilled to turn over the reins to David Reich. He will do an excellent job of advancing our current strategic initiatives as well as bringing new ideas to our Board," said Nancy Mills, Chairman Emeritus of the Highland Park Community Foundation. "His dedication to the Board and deep sense of commitment to the community have contributed immensely to the Foundation's growing role in our community."
Mr. Reich's extensive years of experience within the Foundation will assist him in managing the operations, strategies, and policies of the HPCF. Reich's stellar leadership skills and business acumen will provide guidance to the Board of Directors and ensure that the Foundation's mission to support the Highland Park/Highwood community is sustained.
"As Chairman, I look forward to continuing to expand HPCF's support of Highland Park and Highwood's community organizations," said Mr. Reich. "Along with the dedicated HPCF Board of Directors, I am looking forward to continuing to increase the endowment fund to provide even more and larger grants to deserving organizations that serve those in need."
A leader with passion and drive, Mr. Reich brings 8 years of Board experience to his new role. For the past 2 years, he has served as Vice-Chairman. He served as Secretary of the Board from 2014-2016 and has chaired the Grants Committee for the past 4 years.
Mr. Reich's record demonstrates his ability to implement strategies that will advance the Foundation's mission. Together with Mills, as Vice-Chairman, David successfully implemented HPCF strategies that resulted in a record grants distribution of 50 grants, totaling $525K, in 2019 to support the work of organizations that provide programs and services for Highland Park and Highwood residents.
Born and raised in Highland Park, Mr. Reich is a partner at the law firm of Lawrence, Kamin, LLC. In his practice he works closely with family and small to midsize businesses to manage their corporate needs and assists business owners and individuals with their estate and succession planning.
Ending her term as Board Secretary, Highland Park Community Foundation Board Member Betsy Brint steps into the position of Vice-Chairman. Ms. Brint will provide support and wise counsel in her role assisting the HPCF Chairman as well as monitoring the implementation of the HPCF's strategies.
Brint brings over 6 years of Board experience to new her position. As an active participant in the HPCF, Brint has served on the Executive and Nominating Committees. She has also used her well-honed communication skills to chair the Communications Committee and co-chaired the HPCF's inaugural Gather For Good fundraiser in 2018.
A native Highland Park resident, Brint is known for going the extra mile and ensuring success in all projects she embraces. A graduate of Cornell University she has worked as Sales Manager for Hyatt Hotels and at the accounting firm Laventhol & Horwath, where she developed her proficiency at analyzing real estate markets and trends. Brint brought her sparkling persona to the airwaves for 8 years running, co-hosting with her sister, on the AM syndicated talk radio show Walking on Air with Betsy & Sal. Employing her business acumen and real estate savvy, she is currently working at Highland Park's @properties.
