Crash on Rt. 12 sends four to hospital

A two-vehicle crash in Wauconda sent four people to the hospital Tuesday night, officials said.

The crash, which was between a passenger vehicle and a semitrailer truck, was first reported at 9:18 p.m. at Route 12 and Bonner Road. Wauconda Fire Department first responders worked for more than 45 minutes to free the injured from the car.

The victims were taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center and Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital. Their injuries weren't life-threatening.

Route 12 was closed for more than 90 minutes as crews moved the vehicles and debris off the roads.
