Rotary Club members line up community service opportunities

The Rotary Club of Long Grove, Kildeer and Hawthorn Woods has just scheduled two community service opportunities to kick off 2020. Members of the local community are welcome to join them.

On Saturday, Jan. 18, they will be volunteering at Feed My Staring Children from 7-8:30 p.m. in Libertyville. More information and volunteer registration is available at fmsc.org.

Their next volunteer opportunity will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Bernie's Book Bank in Lake Bluff. More information and volunteer registration is available at berniesbookbank.org.

Additional information about the Rotary Club of Long Grove, Kildeer, and Hawthorn Woods is available at www.rclg.org. The club meets Tuesdays every other week at 7:15 a.m. at Harbor Chase of Long Grove.

Some of the recent volunteer projects the Rotary Club has been involved with include: hosting and serving the Community Dinner at Emmaus House in Lake Zurich; supporting Lake County Haven in Libertyville; providing groceries for St. Mary's Food Bank in Buffalo Grove; purchase and distribution of winter coats as part of "Operation Warm" in Lake Zurich; contributions to Shelter Box, an international organization providing global disaster relief supplies; installation of Little Free Libraries in Lake Zurich and Hawthorn Woods; and making donations to eradicate polio worldwide.
