Lisle man charged with DUI, shoving DuPage sheriff's deputy

A 22-year-old Lisle man is free on bail after police said he shoved a DuPage County sheriff's deputy attempting to detain him in connection with a DUI crash early Monday.

Paul Flores was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated battery to a peace officer and leaving the scene of a property damage crash.

The sheriff's deputy responded to an accident in The Towers at Four Lakes apartment complex in Lisle and later found the suspect in the hit-and-run, Lisle Deputy Chief Ron Wilke said in an email Thursday.

When the deputy attempted to detain Flores in the apartment complex parking lot, Flores pushed and briefly fought with her while she tried to place him in handcuffs, according to Wilke and a sheriff's office spokesman.

Flores later was found at the apartment building on the 5000 block of Forest View Road, where Lisle police took him into custody.

The sheriff's deputy was not injured.

Flores was released from jail Monday after posting 10% of his $10,000 bail.

His next court date is Jan. 22.
