Children, families enjoy 'Shop with a Sheriff' event

The Kane County Sheriff's Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 14 recently hosted its annual "Shop with a Sheriff" program taking underprivileged children shopping for Christmas presents. Each child selected to participate in this special event has the opportunity to purchase gifts for their brothers and sisters who may not have received anything for Christmas.

Kane County Sheriff's Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 14 would like to extend a big thank you to their partners at the Batavia Walmart who not only hosted the event but were so engaging with the participants who came to the event.

About 128 people were helped at the event. Most of the participants were from various organizations in Kane County including the Association of Individual Development, Marklund, The Salvation Army, Lazarus House and Kane County Veterans Assistance Commission.
