Upcoming Legal Seminar Highlights New Laws Affecting Businesses In 2020

With the legalization of recreational marijuana and other laws that will impact the workplace going into effect in 2020, Schaumburg-based Lavelle Law is hosting a free seminar to help local business owners prepare for the coming changes. During the January edition of the firm's Breakfast Briefs series, attorneys from Lavelle Law will discuss several critical issues, including the need to update employee handbooks in light of changing laws, employment disputes and proper termination procedures, and the use and enforceability of non-compete agreements and other restrictive covenants.

Lavelle Law's free Breakfast Briefs series covers a variety of legal topics that impact businesses and individuals. The January edition, Employment Law Update, will take place January 8 from 7:45 to 9:00 a.m. at 1933 North Meacham Road, Suite 127

"Our Breakfast Briefs series began in early 2019 and we found it was an effective way to educate business owners and individuals in the community about legal issues," said Lavelle Law Managing Partner Ted McGinn. "In 2020, we plan to host these events quarterly, and this upcoming seminar in January will be a great opportunity for business owners to learn more about new laws impacting the workplace so they can stay ahead of the game in 2020."

The Employment Law Update seminar on January 8 will begin with a networking opportunity at 7:45 a.m., followed by the formal presentation at 8:00. Coffee and breakfast will be included at the free event. Registration is required as seating is limited.
