Good Family Tattoo Holds Third Annual 'Toys for Tats' Event

Good Family Tattoo, 198 W. Grass Lake Rd. in Lake Villa held their annual "Toys for Tats" event from 12:00pm-8:00pm on Saturday, December 7. Residents from around the area were asked to bring in new toys valued at $20.00 or more. In turn, donors could spin a Lucky Wheel and try to win a free body piercing or a gift certificate for a tattoo valued at $50-$300.

Good Family Tattoo collected over $15,000 in toys, games, gift cards, and cash. For the third year, the business partnered with the Antioch Traveling Closet (ATC), a local charity organization that helps needy individuals and families in the area. The ATC collects toys throughout the year for distribution to needy children throughout the area who might otherwise have a less bountiful holiday season.

On December 11, the ATC held a private event for area needy families at the W.C. Petty Elementary School, 850 Highview Dr. in Antioch. Residents who attended were able to select gifts for their family from the stacks on hand. Gillespie Ford in Antioch donated 50 fleece blankets for distribution to the attendees. Over 100 invited families attended the event. Items that were not selected were given to the Waukegan Police Department which, in turn, will be delivering them to shelters on Christmas Day.
