Police: Burglars steal ATM from Namaste Foods in Wheaton

Three masked burglars stole an ATM containing roughly $10,000 from an Indian grocery store in Wheaton early Wednesday, police said.

Officers responded to a burglar alarm about 2 a.m. Wednesday at Namaste Foods, which is in a small strip mall at Roosevelt and Lorraine roads.

Police found the door to the market had been smashed and an ATM had been stolen from the premises, police said in a news release Thursday.

Surveillance video shows three people broke into the store and moved the ATM to a late-model silver SUV or crossover-type vehicle, police said.

One suspect was wearing a green winter jacket with a white zipper, blue jeans, black ski mask and gloves, according to a description provided by police.

Another suspect was wearing a black hoodie and light-colored blue jeans.

The third suspect was wearing a Timberland hoodie with a large Timberland logo, black pants and black boots.
