Burglars steal two cars in Wheaton, enter numerous others

Wheaton police say burglars stole at least two cars and entered numerous others in the early morning hours of Monday in the areas of Brentwood, Canterbury, Cheshire and Richton.

Police said the suspects were driving a white sedan with black wheels, as seen in images captured by a resident's surveillance system.

It appears they entered multiple vehicles in search of keys, police said. Several of the vehicles were left undisturbed, but the burglars stole two vehicles where the owner had left the keys inside - a 2012 Ford SUV and a 2009 Honda sedan.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Lt. Bill Cooley at (630) 260-2077.

They also are encouraging residents to keep their vehicles locked and to never leave keys inside an unattended vehicle.
