Be a Santa to a Senior program accepting donations through Dec. 1

Donations for the Be a Santa to a Senior program, which provides holiday gifts to area seniors, are being accepted in and around Elk Grove Village through Dec. 1.

The Elk Grove office of Home Instead Senior Care is sponsoring the donation event, with gifts being accepted at seven Northwest suburban locations. A tree at each location is decorated with ornaments featuring seniors' first names and gift suggestions. Shoppers can choose an ornament, buy the requested gift and return it to the store with the ornament attached.

The trees are located at the Elk Grove Village Public Library, Bartlett Public Library, and businesses in Elk Grove Village including Curves at 776 S. Arlington Heights Road, MB Financial Bank at 450 E. Higgins Road, Tasty Catering at 1900 W. Touhy Ave. and InStyle Salon & Spa Suites at 1104 W. Devon Ave.
