Schaumburg places 7th in Digital Cities Survey

The village of Schaumburg has placed seventh in the population category of 75,000 and below in the 2019 Digital Cities Survey, which recognized cities using technology to tackle social challenges, enhance cybersecurity, improve transparency and more.

Schaumburg is the only Illinois community ranked in any population category.

The village completed several technology initiatives in 2019 to increase efficiency and safety, including:

Expansion of the village's WebPay online payment system.

Creation of a Safe Transfer Zone monitored by 24/7 video coverage.

Expanded use of automated electronic communications to improve customer service for water service customers.

Installation of a security camera network in and around key village facilities.

Implementation of an in-building emergency alert system at village hall.
