Teen readers talk about climate crisis

Vernon Area Public Library hosted Off the Page, a book discussion for teen readers, Monday, November 18, at Culver's in Lincolnshire. The group talked about acclaimed author Neal Shusterman's "Dry," about a California drought that turns catastrophic. Participants also enjoyed frozen custard, the library's treat. This session of Off the Page was part of the library's Green Academy, a series of fall events designed to inform and spark conversation about the climate crisis.

The next Off the Page discussion is Monday, January 27, 7-8:15 p.m., at Culver's, 405 Milwaukee Ave., Lincolnshire. The book selection is "The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly" by Stephanie Oakes. Sign up beginning December 28 at calendar.vapld.info to reserve a free copy of the book. Grades 8-12 only.
