Geneva film series to show 'Climate Exodus' Nov. 22

How many millions of people will be forced to leave their homes by 2050?

"Climate Exodus" looks at the so-called hotspots of climate change in the Sahel zone, Indonesia and the Russian Tundra. Migration has always existed as a strategy to adapt to a changing environment. But the number of those forced to migrate solely because of climate change has increased dramatically since the 1990s.

In the United States, it is expected that people will leave states besieged by wild fires, earthquakes, and hurricanes to seek less turbulent climates in the Midwest.

On Friday, Nov. 22, see the documentary film "Climate Exodus" at 7 p.m. at Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva, 102 S. Second St.

The film is part of the fourth-Friday Film program that is sponsored by the Social Justice Team of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva and is free to the public.
