Police: Man threatened employees at Streamwood pawnshop
A Chicago man was charged with aggravated assault after he threatened employees at a Streamwood pawnshop, police said.
Devon Swan threatened employees Nov. 7 at EZ Pawn, 901 E. Irving Park Road, after they said he was banned from the store because of an earlier theft, according to a Streamwood Police Department report issued Thursday. When an employee told Swan the police would be called, Swan picked up a metal auto part from the counter and threatened the employees, the report said.
Swan told police he didn't know he was banned from the store and he picked up the part to "defend himself" after employees made "false accusations" against him, the report said.
Swan was charged with aggravated assault, retail theft and disorderly conduct. His bond was posted later that night.
