Winners of Schaumburg Park District's Halloween House Decorating Contest

Looking for the creepiest, spookiest and most frightful sights in the neighborhood? Check out the winners in the Schaumburg Park District's Halloween House Decorating Contest.

The winning entries are:

• First place: 535 Slingerland Drive, Schaumburg

• Second place: 1017 Aegean Lane, Schaumburg

• Third place: (tie) 820 Westfield Lane, Schaumburg, and 920 Cass Lane, Elk Grove Village

Entrants had to be located within Schaumburg Park District boundaries and be decorated before Oct. 23. The first 10 houses entered were judged by participants of the sold-out Halloween House Decorating Tour.

"Residents really go above and beyond and take pride in decorating their homes for this contest," said Kathleen Benson, Bock Neighborhood Center manager. "In previous years, people have incorporated music and other special effects to create a unique and spooky experience."
