Crystal Lake couple faces felony drug charges

A Crystal Lake couple under investigation since March now are facing felony drug charges after police found cocaine in their home, officials said.

Carmen J. Gutierrez, 44, and Angelica Sotelo-Torres, 42, both of 500 block of Darlington Lane, each have been charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Crystal Lake police, working with the Drug Enforcement Administration and the McHenry County sheriff's office, executed a search warrant at the home around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday and recovered cocaine with a street value of $22, 640, according to a news release.

They were taken to the McHenry County Jail in Woodstock, where they remain in custody in lieu of bond set at $150,000 each. Their next court date is Oct. 29.
