Girls volleyball: Wesol smashes 14 kills in Dundee-Crown's win
Dundee-Crown d. Hampshire 25-22, 21-25, 25-18: In a very tough Fox Valley Conference battle, it was the Chargers (9-20, 4-14) who came out victorious. Makena Wesol had 14 kills and 6 digs for Dundee-Crown, Mia Seton finished with 16 digs, and Jenna Brown added 35 assists.
CL South d. Jacobs 25-13, 23-25, 25-20: After cruising to an easy win in the first set, the Gators (19-15, 9-9) had to fight hard to hold off a scrappy Jacobs team. Kelly Carlson led the defense with 21 digs and Jessie Proszenyak and Samantha Wesoly were strong at the net with 11 kills each. Jenna Rhoades finished with 28 assists for CL South.
Batavia d. Glenbard East 21-25, 25-11, 25-18: After dropping a close first set, the Bulldogs (12-23) battled all the way back for a win on Senior Night. Priya Dave' tied her career high with 29 assists and also added 3 kills. Olivia Vani had 9 kills, 11 digs and 3 blocks, Alexis Whelpley finished with 8 kills and 3 blocks, and Amanda Otten had 6 kills, 4 aces and 2 blocks for Batavia.
South Elgin d. Schaumburg 25-15, 25-14: The Storm followed up a conference championship with another win, this time in a nonconference match. South Elgin was led by Alyssa Worden with 11 kills and 7 digs and Allison Cuniffe with 20 assists and 5 digs.
