Abandoning our allies
Abandoning the Kurds, arguably our best allies in the Middle East, to slaughter is:
• Bad for the Kurdish people;
• Morally repugnant
• A loss of a great house-to-house fighting force;
• Going to very likely allow Isis prisoners to escape, which will cause havoc;
• Likely to dissuade others from trusting and working with the US now and in the future.
I suspect that President Donald Trump may calculate that voters usually don't want to change leaders when we are in or are afraid of a shooting war. Beyond his 2020 election calculus, he also has business dealings with Turkey and seems to want to appease dictator types like Erdogan and Putin.
How can my country sink this low again?
