Des Plaines Girl Scout Earned Silver Award

Melissa Cobb of Troop 45255 in Des Plaines and Mount Prospect Service Unit 404 earned the Silver Award, the highest Girl Scout award a Cadette can earn over the summer. During the course of several months, Troop 45255 created inspirational artwork as a way to show support to clients at the Kenneth Young Center in Mount Prospect. After contributing to the project, Melissa decided to use her skills and talents to support Kenneth Young Center further by developing a video and brochures to help create a broader impact in making connections in the community. Melissa contributed 50 hours towards her Silver Award project to benefit KYC. Melissa was given her Silver Award and bridged to the Senior level of Girl Scouts this month, as she begins her Freshman year of High School.
