Girls volleyball: Huntley handles McHenry in 2

Huntley d. McHenry 25-17, 25-15: The Red Raiders (14-0, 12-0) remained undefeated with a Fox Valley Conference win over McHenry on Thursday night. Emma Konie led the offense for Huntley with a team-high 9 kills and Taylor Jakubowski had 19 assists. Josie Schmitendorf finished with 12 digs.

St. Francis d. Batavia 25-10, 30-28: The Bulldogs (8-17) struggled in the first set, but hung tough against St. Francis in the second set before running out of steam. Alexis Whelpley had 5 kills and 2 blocks for Batavia and Kyra Taylor also had 5 kills. Priya Dave' had 12 assists, 8 digs, and 2 kills and Kassy Diaz led the defense with 10 digs.

Willows Academy d. Elgin Academy 25-21, 25-19: Elizabeth Sporina led the Hilltoppers (9-13, 2-3) with 3 kills, 2 aces, and a perfect 7-for-7 serving. Maddy Beauchamp finished with 12 digs and Caelinn Leahy added 3 kills for Elgin Academy.

Cary-Grove d. CL South 17-25, 25-18, 25-21: The Gators (9-8, 6-6) took the first set, but could not hold off Cary-Grove for long, as the Trojans took the next 2 sets for the win. Sam Wesoly led CL South with 12 kills, Jenna Rhoades finished with 16 digs and 16 assists, and Jessie Proszenyak had 5 kills, 2 blocks, and 4 aces.

Parkview Christian d. Westminster Christian 25-20, 25-14: Sophie Kovachevich led the Warriors (5-20, 2-7) with 3 kills and 10 digs as Westminster Christian fell to Parkview Christian.

Harvest Christian d. Alden Hebron 25-3, 25-5: The Lions (18-8) made quick work of Alden Hebron in their homecoming matchup. Maya Jenkins was perfect at the net, going 11-for-11 on kill attempts. Hannah Learned served up 14 points, including 4 aces, and Dana Mesey added 20 assists and 7 aces for Harvest Christian.
