Peter Oprisko to headline cabaret fundraiser Nov. 9

Sing along with veteran entertainer Peter Oprisko at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, as part of the Mount Prospect Parks Foundation Cabaret Night.

The fall event benefits the parks foundation's annual scholarship program. The Friendship Park Conservatory, 395 W. Algonquin Road, is the setting for a night of wine and song.

Your $20 ticket; $25 at the door includes an array of appetizers and sweet treats. Cash bar is available. The Fabulous Fall Raffle offers prizes from wine, home décor and entertainment gift cards.

Oprisko, often referred to as the "American Michael Buble" or "next Frank Sinatra," averages 300 performances annually. His engaging "rat pack style presentation" promotes the rich musical legacy of America's foremost singers and songwriters.

Grammy winning jazz pianist Ramsey Lewis calls Oprisko the "Rolls-Royce of singers" today. Oprisko has opened for other top-flight acts such as the Buckinghams, Howard Levy and the Beach Boys.

Tickets are available at the park district's RecPlex, Central Community Center and Friendship Park Conservatory locations. For information, contact the Mount Prospect Parks Foundation at (847) 255-5380, ext. 103, or visit mppd.org.
