Girls volleyball: South Elgin stays perfect in UEC
South Elgin d. Elgin 25-11, 25-9: The Storm (14-5, 5-0) remained undefeated in the Upstate Eight Conference, cruising to a win in two sets. Angelina Negro had a team-high 11 kills for South Elgin, Allison Cunniffe finished with 23 assists, and Brooke Elders led the defense with 8 digs.
Prairie Ridge d. Dundee-Crown 25-15, 11-25, 25-23: Jenna Brown led the Chargers (5-12, 2-9) with 16 assists and MacKenzie Field finished with a team-high 8 kills. Mia Seaton had 11 digs for Dundee-Crown and Tealyn Kamp added 10 digs.
CL Central d. Burlington Central 21-25, 25-14, 25-12: The Rockets (4-11, 1-10) gave everything they had in a first set win. Addy Nava had 6 kills and 4 digs for Burlington Central, Rylie Hahn added 6 kills and 7 digs, Rachel Stoneman finished with 13 assists, 7 digs, and 4 kills, and Morgan Leone had 12 digs.
Christian Life d. Westminster Christian 25-13, 25-15: The Warriors (5-19, 2-6) could not contain the offense of a powerful Christian Life team. Lizzy Muschong finished with 2 kills and 5 digs, Laura Martinez had 3 aces and 3 digs, and Alyssa Cunningham added 2 kills and 1 block to lead Westminster Christian.
