Baird & Warner's Good Will Network Awards Five Nonprofits $120,000 In Grants to Support Communities Serving Chicagoland

Baird & Warner, Chicagoland's largest family-owned independent residential real estate services company, today announced the five winners sharing $120,000 in grants as part of its annual Good Will Network philanthropic initiative. In August, the public cast votes among 10 organizations that serve people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the city and suburbs, with the top five vote-getters each receiving a $24,000 grant through Baird & Warner's $24K of Solid Good program.

"With the United States facing an ongoing affordable housing crisis, we're proud to lift up and support the important work these organizations are doing to prevent homelessness," said Jennifer Alter Warden, chief operating officer and executive vice president of Baird & Warner. "Since our founding 164 years ago, Baird & Warner has been committed to making Chicagoland a better place to live and our Good Will Network is just one small way we're trying to help make a positive difference."

Earlier this year, Baird & Warner's team of broker associates, loan officers, and employees began nominating nonprofit organizations for the $24K of Solid Good grants based on the charities' innovative programs to provide aid, shelter and services for homeless populations in neighborhoods across the Chicago area. The five winning nonprofits are:

• Community Partners for Affordable Housing (CPAH) - Provides permanently affordable housing (both ownership and rental) for those who struggle to meet their basic human need of housing. (Serves suburbs of northern Cook, Lake and McHenry counties)

• Connections for the Homeless (CFTH) - Works to end homelessness one person at a time through prevention, shelter and housing. (Serves north suburban Cook County)

• Mooseheart Child City and School - Educates children, teens, and young adults in need at its 1,000-acre campus in Kane County. (Serves children from birth through 21 years old, currently from 26 states)

• Realtors Against Homelessness (RAH) - Supports the growing number of homeless students in the suburbs. (Serves Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. including Palatine, Schaumburg and Hoffman Estates)

• StandUp For Kids - Raises community awareness and works to bring an end to youth homelessness. (Serves Chicago's South and West sides)

Baird & Warner's Good Will Network launched its $24K of Solid Good program in 2017. Last year's five winners used the funds to support their efforts, which included providing shelter to domestic abuse survivors and training new volunteers.

Since 2002, the Baird & Warner Good Will Network has donated more than $2.4 million, as well as thousands of volunteer hours, to a wide array of Chicagoland nonprofit organizations that provide housing-related aid, primarily for women and children.
