Lifelong Grayslake Resident Receives Park Award
The Grayslake Community Park District presented Charlotte Renehan with the 2019 Friends of the Park Award at the Park Board Meeting on Wednesday, September 18, 2019.
"It is an honor to recognize Charlotte Renehan for her outstanding support of and dedication to the Grayslake Park District," said Park Board President Ken Ryan. "A lifelong Grayslake resident and President of the Grayslake Historical Society, Charlotte has always been a strong supporter of the Park District."
As a teenager, Charlotte worked summer camps and taught arts and crafts classes at the Park District. Charlotte was instrumental in the "Where the Fun Grows: 60 Years of the Grayslake Community Park District" exhibit, currently on display at the Grayslake Heritage Center and Museum. Charlotte has also worked with Park District staff for years organizing special events, trips, and programs.
"Through all of her hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment, Charlotte continues to have a positive impact in the Grayslake community," added Ryan.
