Girls volleyball: Stevenson tops Zion-Benton

Lily Cozzi and Amanda Holsen each had 4 kills, Connie Song delivered 5 aces, and Stevenson defeated Zion-Benton 25-11, 25-15 in North Suburban Conference girls volleyball action Wednesday night.

Stevenson (9-6) also received 3 kills apiece from Olivia Barreca and Emma Potecki, while Molly Bourbon added 9 assists and 2 aces. Emerson Kouri collected 8 digs and 2 aces for the Patriots.

Lake Forest d. Lake Zurich: The Bears dropped the North Suburban Conference match 20-25, 27-25, 25-16, despite Chelsea Williams' 8 kills and 7 aces.

Leah Salit had 31 assists, 5 kills and 2 aces for Lake Zurich (6-15, 1-1), and Jarynn Hartman also tallied 8 kills. The Bears' other contributors included Maddie Gillis (4 kills) and Maura Ginn (2 solo blocks).

Maine West d. Vernon Hills: The host Cougars lost 25-23, 25-20 to fall to 7-8 and 0-2 in the Central Suburban League North Division.
