Lavelle Law Attorneys to Address the Impact of Marijuana's Legalization on Businesses at SBA Event

The Employment Law attorneys at Schaumburg-based Lavelle Law are scheduled to speak at an upcoming Schaumburg Business Association (SBA) event about the impact of the legalization of marijuana and other laws going into effect in 2020 on local businesses. The event, Good Morning Schaumburg, will be moderated by Lavelle Law Managing Partner, Ted McGinn and feature three of the firm's attorneys, Joshua Nesser, Scott Browdy and Lance Zeibel, as panelists.

During the event, Lavelle Law's attorneys will discuss several critical issues, including the need to update employee handbooks in light of changing laws, how to handle employment disputes and proper termination procedures, and the use and enforceability of non-compete agreements and other restrictive covenants.

"With several laws going into effect in Illinois in early 2020, including the legalization of marijuana, business owners need to understand how those laws will affect their business and what action they need to take prior to the start of the new year," said Managing Partner Ted McGinn. "Now is the time to review your employment practices and employee handbook to make sure you have the proper protections in place to safeguard your company and ensure you maintain a healthy work environment."

The Employment Law attorneys at Lavelle Law have deep experience in all aspects of employment and labor law, and their goal is to help clients protect and defend their business against potential liabilities and claims.

Good Morning Schaumburg is a bi-monthly event hosted by the SBA with the purpose of educating members on various topics and connecting them with other professionals in the area.
