Kickstands up for 2nd annual 'Motorcycle Ride for the Veterans' Sept. 14

Hanover Township's Community and Veterans Affairs Department, Elgin American Legion Post 57 and the American Legion Riders invite the community to join the second annual "Motorcycle Ride for the Veterans" Saturday, Sept. 14, at the post home, 820 N. Liberty St., Elgin.

It will benefit the Hanover Township Foundation Veterans Fund, which is responsible for assisting township veterans in obtaining information and benefits entitled to them by law. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the ride at 10 a.m.

The first stop will be Mott's Lounge in Burlington, followed by Stumble Inn in Capron and Silver Spur Ranch in Maple Park. Participants return to Post 57 for lunch and live music by Southern Jack.

Tickets are $20 per rider and $15 for passengers. There will be food, drinks, raffle, prizes and a 50/50 raffle.

Non-motorcycle riders can join the group in their cars or stop by for the lunch and concert; $15 for lunch only. Sponsorships available. Call Cyndi Wollack at (847) 888-8329 or cwollack@hanover-township.org.
