Glen Ellyn, Wheaton cops probe home burglaries
Police in Glen Ellyn and Wheaton say they are investigating four residential burglaries that occurred in the early morning hours Monday.
One was reported near Forest and Stoddard avenues in Wheaton; the others were reported between 2:30 and 6 a.m. near Western Avenue and Anthony Street in Glen Ellyn.
In each case, the intruder gained entry and stole items while the residents were sleeping.
Residents in the area with exterior cameras and video doorbells are asked to check for any suspicious activity during the early morning hours and to call either Glen Ellyn police at (630) 469-1187 or Wheaton Lt. Bill Cooley at (630) 260-2077 if they spot anything unusual.
Police also are urging residents to lock their homes at all times, even while occupied, to reduce the chances of becoming a victim.
The cases remain under investigation.
