Schaumburg A.M. Rotary inducts new member

Schaumburg A.M. Rotary welcomed its newest member when the Rev. Jerry Hays, 19/20 club president, inducted Trudy Ray at its August 14th meeting.

Ray, who recently relocated to Arlington Heights from Florida, is a retired educator and a former member of the Rotary Club of Spring Hill, Florida. Her community service involvement while residing in the Sunshine State included being a child advocate for the Guardian ad Litem program, a weekly volunteer worker at her church's community food pantry and a garden club member who helped restore and maintain a landmark waterfall garden. She also hosted a Rotary youth exchange student from Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic, in her home for a year.

Membership in Rotary runs the spectrum from young professionals to retired seniors looking for opportunities to make a difference in their community and beyond. Schaumburg A.M. Rotary meets most Wednesday mornings from 7:00 - 8:30 am at Schaumburg's Egg Harbor Café located at 1310 American Lane. For more information, visit www.schaumburgamrotary.org.
