3 hurt in McHenry crash

Three people were seriously injured Saturday evening in a multivehicle crash in McHenry that also led to brief road closures, officials said.

McHenry Township Fire Protection District crews responded to Route 31 and Shoppers Drive at 6:17 p.m. for the T-bone crash and worked for more than 20 minutes to extricate the victims, according to Battalion Chief David Harwood.

Once freed, each of them was taken to a hospital; one was taken by Flight For Life helicopter, Harwood said, but none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.
