Boomers beat River City, now tied for first

Before 5,602 on Day Camp Day in Schaumburg, the Boomers once again pulled into a tie for first in the Frontier League's East Division behind a 4-1 victory over the River City Rascals.

Quincy Nieporte got the game off to a loud start with a two-run homer in the bottom of the first with two outs, his seventh of the year. River City scrapped to within 2-1 behind a single tally in the top of the fifth, but the Boomers put the game away with two in the bottom of the inning. Nieporte notched an RBI single in the frame and Brock Carpenter drew a bases loaded walk.
