Hundreds turn out for St. Peter's Community Friends Banquet in Geneva

On July 25, St. Peter Catholic Church in Geneva served more than 300 local area friends at its annual Community Friends Banquet, an evening of live music and fine dining featuring a steak and lobster dinner prepared by members of the Knights of Columbus Council 2191.

Inspired by the 25th Chapter of Matthew's Gospel, when Jesus reminds us whatever we do for the least of our brothers and sisters we do for Him, the Rev. Jonathan Bakkelund, St. Peter's pastor, was moved to offer this free banquet to those who may otherwise not be able to participate.

From making financial contributions to offering their time and talent providing service with a smile, the entire parish community supported this extraordinary event.

The number of attendees nearly doubled from those who attended last year.
