Golf outing assists local students with scholarships

Did you know that SAF Dollars for Scholars encompasses five different communities?

Indeed it does, and it only has one fundraiser to help students from Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Mount Prospect, Prospect Heights and Wheeling.

Since 1998, SAF Dollars for Scholars has awarded 160 scholarships, including 16 four-year, renewable scholarships totally $415,000.

This year, the fundraising golf outing will be Monday, Aug. 26, at the Rolling Green Country Club, 2525 E. Rand Road in Arlington Heights. Check-in begins at 11 a.m. and the event starts at 12:15 p.m. Cocktails and dinner will be served starting at 5:30 p.m., followed by the awards presentation and the Ultimate Big Game Experience Raffle Drawing.

Event includes golf, cart, lunch, dinner and two drink tickets on the course. There will be a putting contest, longest drive and opportunities to purchase tickets to join. Golf is $175 per golfer or $600 per foursome; dinner only is $50.

There also will be the "Ultimate Big Game Experience Raffle." A day trip for eight people. Winner chooses game or golf course.

Package includes:

• Privately chartered jet departing from Chicago Executive Airport (max. distance of 350 miles)

• Ground transportation to/from event.

• Event tickets or green fees, up to $1,600 total.

• Only 250 raffle tickets available at $100 per ticket.
