Lisle Lions Club offers collegiate scholarships and awards

As part of an ongoing commitment to support education and youth in our community, the Lisle Lions Club Educational Foundation received 21 scholarship applications from high school seniors living in the 60532 area ZIP code.

Two collegiate and three Presidents' Choice scholarships were presented by Lion Marc Henny.

Each has an annual value of $500 and can be renewed for an additional three years for a total value of $2,000 over four years.

Selections are based on: leadership qualities; academic potential, career aspirations, community participation and financial need.

Selections were made by the Lisle Lions Club Educational Foundation Committee. Recipients were announced during Lisle Senior High School's Honors Night activities.

This year's Academic Scholarship recipients are: Alexa Fasone and Suhani Patel.

President's Choice Scholarship winners are: Maggie Dooley, Samantha Jasinski, and Faith Ryan.

The Lisle Lions Club Educational Foundation is a 501(c) 3 organization, therefore, your donations are tax deductible and 100 percent of all funds received will be used for Senior High School Scholarships for students living in the 60532 ZIP code.

Send your financial contributions to the Lisle Lions Club Educational Foundation, P.O. Box 481, Lisle, IL 60532.

The Lisle Lions Club is also pleased to announce recipients of the 2019 Eighth Grade Achievement Awards:

• From St. Joan of Arc School: Sophia Johnson and Brady Kunka

• From Lisle Junior High School: Rebekah Zielinski and Zach Cygan.

Achievement award guidelines are: to be a good student (works to his/her best ability); to be involved in extracurricular school activities (band, clubs, sports); be a good class citizen (gets along well with others and goes "the extra mile" to help others); and to be involved in family and community activities.

Selections are made by a committee of St. Joan and Lisle Junior High School teachers and administrators.

Funds for these two awards are generated by each of you when you attend or volunteer your time to the Lisle Lions Club at the Eyes To The Skies Festival in July.
