Stevenson High graduate wins national award

A recent Stevenson High School graduate has been named a Distinguished Young Woman of America, the Lincolnshire school announced. Dora Guo, who graduated in May, qualified for the national finals by winning the Distinguished Young Woman of Illinois contest last year. An incoming freshman at Yale University, she'll receive scholarships totaling $32,000 as part of the prize. Distinguished Young Women, formerly known as America's Junior Miss, is a national nonprofit organization that provides scholarship opportunities to female high school seniors.
