Celebrate International Bog Day on July 28 at Volo Bog

International Bog Day will be held from noon to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, July 28, at Volo Bog State Natural Area, 28478 W. Brandenburg Road, Ingleside.

The event features an art show, artists' reception, silent auction, live music, tours, crafts for kids and more.

International Bog Day was established in 1992 in Scotland and brought to the U.S. in 2008. Bogs are a delicate ecosystem of accumulating peat soils.
