Presidential protocol

Ms. Cittadino's letter of July 9 raised a fuss over President Donald Trump taking along his daughter while he meets with Kim Jong Un. The left has run out of any real objections, so the left takes off on his daughter Ivanka and the cost of her trip.

I am glad that Ms. Cittadino is not in charge of protocol for Washington, D.C. Ivanka is a veteran of political protocol, and an asset, especially when visiting overseas. Kim Jong Un has a wife and one of Ivanka's responsibilities is to be her companion if needed. Presidents have often used their daughters when a wife was not available.
