Springfield, IL - Illinois Health Care Association (IHCA) has announced that more than a dozen of their member centers have earned a National Quality Award from the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) in 2019. AHCA/NCAL awarded more than 600 Bronze - Commitment to Quality Award and nearly 200 Silver - Achievement in Quality Awards this year, with 10 Illinois centers receiving a Bronze Award and five receiving a Silver Award.
Based on the core values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, AHCA/NCAL's National Quality Award Program challenges member providers to achieve performance excellence through three progressive levels-Bronze, Silver and Gold. The first step, the Bronze level, requires long term care centers to develop an organizational profile with essential performance elements such as vision, mission statement, and key strengths and challenges, and show their ability to implement a performance improvement system. At the Silver level, members develop and demonstrate effective approaches that help improve organizational performance and health care outcomes. After receiving the Silver award, centers can move on to further develop comprehensive strategies that meet the criteria required for the Gold - Excellence in Quality Award.
"We are so proud of these centers and their dedication to quality," said IHCA Executive Director Matt Hartman. "Earning a Quality Award is no easy task. Congratulations to the facilities and their staffs on this outstanding achievement."
The awards will be presented during AHCA/NCAL's 70th Annual Convention and Exposition in Orlando, Florida, October 13-16, 2019.
