Finishing touches made on Northwest suburban July 4 fest preparations

Fourth of July festival season in the Northwest suburbs starts Wednesday, when Arlington Heights' Frontier Days, Palatine Jaycees Hometown Fest, Mount Prospect's Lions Club Festival, Northwest Fourth Fest in Hoffman Estates and more celebrations get underway.

The fun at Frontier Days kicks off Wednesday evening with a dog Frisbee catching competition on Meyer Baseball Field, a hockey skills seminar and a performance by local rock favorites 7th heaven. For a full schedule, visit www.frontierdays.org/.
