Two ex-trustees up for vacant Island Lake post

Two former Island Lake trustees are being considered to fill a vacancy on the village board.

Mark Beeson and John Burke, both of whom left office in May, are being eyed for the open seat created when Trustee Jennifer Villarreal resigned last week. Trustee appointments are made by the mayor, with approval from the village board.

The board will discuss their options when they meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at village hall, 3720 Greenleaf Ave.
